Another one to consider: The Lost Trees of Willow Avenue by Mike Tidwell. founder of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network and author of Bayou Farewell (2003) about the disappearing wetlands and Cajun culture in south Louisiana. The Lost Trees focuses on the death of the oaks and other trees on Mike's street in the DC area, but he also explain the science behind some approaches to stabilizing the climate including reflecting sunlight away from the Earth and carbon storage by burying trees.
